Uber Eats x Starbucks Summer 2022
Developed a photoshoot campaign celebrating “that summer feeling” of spontaneity, freedom, and inspiration, while reminding people that they can get their favorite Starbucks delivered on Uber Eats.

Historically, there’s a decline in Starbucks delivery sales during the summer months when people are traveling and out of their normal routine. The Starbucks and Uber Eats business teams requested a campaign centered on the optimism of summer and highlighting Starbucks beverages, keeping the indulgence of ordering on Uber Eats at top of mind. They requested 4 photography concepts, ready to launch on social media on June 21, 2022 (a 5th shot was later added based on how much love there was for the sketches). The creative team was briefed at the end of the April, and I quickly began developing concepts and planning our photoshoot.
In the concept phase, top of mind was for the photos to feel realistic and approachable for our customers. Summer is all about being amplified, energetic, and blissfully refreshing, and I wanted to be clear that those feelings could be achieved at home as well– both as an awareness for the pandemic but also finding those moments where ordering Starbucks delivery felt authentic.
I leaned heavily into capturing lifestyle imagery instead of product glamour shots. Connecting back to our brief, I wanted to inspire our customers to see how even when they’re out of their normal routine in the summer, Starbucks delivery can meet them where they are and keep “That Summer Feeling” going. Throughout all of the concepts I wanted us to see people, highlighting human connection. For the Summer 2021 campaign we were very intentional about not showing faces because of how fresh the pandemic was. For this 2022 campaign, we wanted to really celebrate that it was safer to be a little closer; to have more moments of human connection with loved ones.

Merry delivered. Photoshoot based around finding those moments of connection over the holidays, with feelings of warmth, nostalgia, and familiarity.
